Lions

A gentle first year of Scouting for kindergarteners, done side by side with an adult partner.

Lions are boys and girls entering kindergarten. Every Lion has an adult partner who takes part in each meeting and outing, so the year is as much about families as it is about Scouts. Lions wear a t-shirt and cap rather than the full Class A uniform, and meetings are short, active and playful.

Required adventures for the Lions rank

​

• Bobcat — learn the Scout Oath, Scout Law, sign and handshake

• Mountain Lion — learn outdoor safety and go on a hike

• Lion's Roar — personal safety and making good choices

• King of the Jungle — citizenship, flags and community

• Fun on the Run — games, fitness and healthy habits
